As a lifelong Kansan, I have deep roots in Stevens County and strong connections throughout the area. My husband and I met at the University of Kansas and have been married for forty-seven years. We are proud parents of three children and grandparents to seven grandchildren. One of my daughters lives here in Hugoton, where four of my grandchildren are growing up, and one of my grandsons recently returned to Stevens County to farm. Our family also includes two dogs and two cows.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy traveling, spending time at our special getaway in Gunnison, Colorado, gardening when the weather cooperates, baking the sugar cookies I am known for, painting at my daughter’s flower shop, and volunteering at the High Plains Theatre.
Being a State Farm agent in Western Kansas has been a wonderful adventure because it has allowed me to build lasting relationships with generations of families. My office is located right across the street from the High Plains Theatre, and I love being on Main Street where I can be accessible to anyone who needs help. The relationships my team and I have built in Hugoton and surrounding communities mean far more than insurance alone. Many of our customers feel like family, and we work hard to care for people the way we would want to be cared for ourselves.
Community involvement has always been important to me. Over the years, I have enjoyed supporting the local dog shelter, schools, churches, organizations, businesses, the local food bank, and theater programs. I spent 25 years as a member of the Hugoton Rotary Club and was honored to serve as its first female president. I am also a member of P.E.O., where we help women pursue educational opportunities and continue their personal growth.
